MCLS Presents: Teen Theater, an Acting Experience

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Muskingum County Library System is getting ready to host their Teen Theater program.

The theater program, which will take place from 4:30 to 5:30pm on Friday, will allow teens to dip their toe into the world of theater.

Participants will act out a short play, play games, and learn some of the behind the scenes things that go into a theater production.

Alyssa Fischer, the Assistant Teen Librarian, said the teens who register for the Teen Theater program will get to see a live show as well.

“The teens who register for the Teen Theater on Friday,” Fischer said. “Are also invited to come to the showing on Sunday at the Zanesville Community Theater of “Finding Nemo Jr.””

Fischer said they’re hosting this event for the teens who are interested in learning more about theater.

“We thought this was a great opportunity to reach out to an audience that is interested in acting,” Fischer said. “And also acting involves reading comprehension, where they have to understand what they’re reading in order to emulate the emotions that they act out.”

Registration is required for the Teen Theater program. You can register for the event by heading to the Library’s Website under the Events Calendar.
