Big Brothers Big Sisters of Zanesville Recognized Nationally
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Zanesville is an organization that mentors and supports the lives of area youth.
BBBS of Zanesville Executive Director Katie Lupsor shared how her organization was recently recognized at the national conference held in Dallas, Texas as one of the most successful agencies in the United States at adapting to the social circumstances created by Covid.
“They reached out to me back a few months ago and they asked if I would be willing to be a panelist to talk about a new initiative that they’re rolling out. And it’s called Big Vision. It was the initiative that our CEO was going to announce. And then in addition to that they wanted to know what strategy I put in place 2-to-3 years ago that has worked, that has led to the success of our agency and exponential growth,” Lupsor said.
BBBS of Zanesville’s approach is to cast a wider net throughout the community. Lupsor noted that the success is a direct result of the hard work of her staff, community partnerships, local sponsorships and the volunteers.
“In addition, we’ve really just increased our partnerships in the school systems. And a lot of the agencies (that were) there, don’t even do the Lunch Buddies. So a lot of people don’t even know what that is. So with Lunch Buddies, I talked a little bit… you know, which I think a lot of the smaller agencies represented there at conference could relate a little better because a lot of them have those site based programs,” Lupsor said.
The corporate organization awarded BBBSZ for nearly doubling their enrollment with the Agency Growth Award.
