Annual Veterans Picnic is a success

ZANESVILLE, OH- The Muskingum Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution hosted their annual veteran’s picnic in conjunction with Veterans Appreciation Foundation Weekend to honor and thank veterans for their service.
The picnic was complimentary and included hamburgers, pasta salad, baked beans, chips, cookies and more. Veterans attended the picnic at the American Legion Post 29 with their family and friends.
“I’m a three-time Vietnam vet and I feel like I’m giving back, you know paying it forward when we get these veterans together,” said Dave House, a Veteran and a member of the Veteran Appreciation Foundation.
The Daughters of the American Revolution are known for their dedication to patriotism and support for military personnel. The picnic is a meaningful way for them to show their gratitude to the veterans.
“Over a decade ago now we started this picnic and this is our way to take a warmer time of year to reach out to our veterans in our community to say a quick thank you and to celebrate them, and it’s just our way of giving back and tell them that we love them and that we are still thinking of them,” said Daughters of the American Revolution Muskingum Chapter Regent, Samatha Roush.
If you are looking for more ways to support veterans during Veterans Appreciation Foundation Weekend there will be a Veterans Appreciation auction at The Barn on Linden Avenue from10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
