Winter Heating Help

Muskingum County- As the colder weather creeps in, staying warm doesn’t have to break the bank. Columbia Gas has a solution to keep your home cozy.

Columbia Gas of Ohio offers helps to customers through the 2024-2025 special reconnect order and the Home Energy Assistance Program. These programs offer support for customers facing difficulties with heating costs.

“The special reconnect order is an annual order that helps customers maintain their gas service if they’re at risk of being disconnected or reconnect their gas service if they’ve already been disconnected for a fee of $175,” explained Communications Director of Columbia Gas of Ohio Erica Chronaberry.

The home energy assistance program is designed to assist eligible customers with a one-time payment toward their utility bill by reaching out to their local Community Action Agency.

“They’re all helpful because we want our customers to be able to stay warm. We want to be able to help our customers get through the colder months. You know, being able to heat their homes. So, these plans can really give customers that opportunity with a little bit of assistance,” said Chronaberry.
