Animal Shelter Society Gears Up for “Rockin’ For Paws and Claws” Concert
ZANESVILLE, OH – As the cold chill of winter begins to creep in, the Animal Shelter Society wants to make sure you are prepared.
April Gibson, the Executive Director of the Animal Shelter, said as the temperatures drop animals begin to look for the warmest places they can find.
She said she has received many calls over the years about animals getting stuck in the hood or underneath vehicles.
Gibson said the best thing to do to make sure an animal isn’t somewhere in your car, is to tap on your hood before you start your drive.
She also recommends getting your outdoor pet boxes ready and explains what you should and shouldn’t put inside them.
“Please do not put any rugs, blankets, or anything of that type of material because they come in and they’re wet, they freeze, and it’s a bad situation,” explained Gibson. “Utilize straw, the Animal Shelter Society each year provides straw, as much as we can. We do have it here, so if you need to stop by and see us in the afternoon, between 1 and 3, we will assist you with that.”
The Animal Shelter is also gearing up for their inaugural Rockin’ For Paws and Claws Concert, hosted by Kick-N-Ax. Gibson said the concert will take place on Saturday, Nov. 9th with the doors opening at 4PM.
“The band is Big Bad Stache, they’re going to be there,” Gibson said. “We just sold, we’re up to 77 tickets sold and we can only sell 100. That’s where we’re at with it, there’s still room for sponsorships, it’s only $100 for the Rockin’ Sponsorship and they get 2 tickets of course there.”
Individual tickets for the Rockin’ For Paws and Claws Concert are $25. If you are interested in attending the concert or for more information you can head to the Animal Shelter Society’s website.
