Christie E. “Chris” Kirker, Sr., 82, of Trinway, died Thursday evening, March 20, 2025, at his home.

Born June 11, 1942, in Coshocton County, he was a son of the late Douglas & Henrietta (Murphy) Kirker and a 1961 graduate of Jefferson High School. Chris retired from the United States Army. He served and protected our country in Vietnam, Korea and Germany. In his younger years, Chris worked as security for Longaberger Daycare, and maintenance at Landmark in Zanesville. He was faithful member of the Prospect United Methodist Church and the VFW. He enjoyed woodworking, singing gospel karaoke, and collecting model trains and railroad memorabilia. He was proud of his collection and had a Railroad Museum that he ran out of his home for many years.

Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Donna Lou (Howard) Kirker, whom he married on May 22, 1966; daughter, Holly Kirker of Frazeysburg; two grandsons, David (Hillary) Hindel and Paul (Ashton) Hindel; five great grandchildren, Zoey, Granger, Macie, Kenzie and Lainey Hindel; a brother, Lloyd (Ottie) Kirker, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Christie E. “Chris” Kirker Jr.; sister, Dana Lou Gamble; and two nieces, Dana Lynn and Rachel.

The family would like to extend a warm thank you to the staff at Genesis Hospice and his caregivers, Selene and Becky, for the wonderful care they provide to Chris.

Family and friends may visit from 10:00am till the time of service at 11:00am, Thursday, March 27, 2025, at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, March 27, 2025, with Pastor Sharon Williamson officiating at the funeral home.

Chris will be laid to rest with his son, Chris Jr., in South Lawn Cemetery, Coshocton, Ohio.
