J.W. Dennison

J.W. grew up in Lancaster where he originally pursued a career as an aircraft mechanic. After several years in that profession, he decided that journalism was his true calling and went back to school. In 2025, he graduated from Muskingum University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism.

While at Muskingum, he served as the editor-in-chief for their digital news publication, The Magenta Journal. He Also served as news director and program director for the university’s Orbit Media which operates an FCC licensed radio station.

J.W. has worked with WHIZ part time during his time at Muskingum University and has joined full time after he graduated. When he isn’t reporting or anchoring the Saturday evening news, J.W. enjoys taking hikes with his dog, card games, and camping.
