ZANESVILLES, Ohio – The South Zanesville Fire Department and the United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties are teaming up to protect you and your household from carbon monoxide.

Starting on Thursday, 15 fire departments throughout Muskingum County will be able to give out and install a CO detector in your home. This program was organized by the South Zanesville Fire Department and funded by the United Way in a partnership that Chief Russell Taylor says feels great.

“We go to so many houses in Muskingum County that do not have CO alarms and these will save lives to detect CO in peoples residences,” Taylor said.

Katie Grubbs, the community impact manager for the United Way, took the time to thank the donors that makes community impact funding possible in initiatives like these.

“With this partnership, we really want to thank our donors. Without that donor, those donor dollars, we would not be able to provide these resources for our communities,” Grubbs said.

Muskingum residents can reach out to their local fire department if you need a CO detector in your home. For those interested in in learning more about programs and partnerships with the United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties, you can call 740-454-6872.
