Allwell Behavioral Health offers more services in their new Cambridge location

CAMBRIDGE, OHIO – Allwell Behavioral Health Services is a non-profit that serves to bring mental health and addiction services to Southeast Ohio and they celebrated their newly renovated offices in downtown Cambridge.
Two years ago, Allwell purchased the former home of a local paper called the Daily Jeffersonian and have spent that time renovating the space. After two years and $5 million dollars were spent, the organization opened on Wheeling Avenue on Friday. This new location offers the community more than it’s traditional mental health services.
“So we provide the traditional services with counseling, case management, medication programs but we’re also providing primary care. People with mental illness often have four chronic conditions,” said James McDonald, CEO of James McDonald. “Maybe COPD, maybe a respiratory issue, could be a cardio issue but their demise is earlier than the general population. So we’re going to have primary care in this building. We’re also going to have urgent care. ”
The previous Allwell location in Guernsey County was on John Glenn Highway, around nine miles out of town. CEO James McDonald said the new location is an easy walk for Cambridge residents and better serves the community that has been supportive of their move.
“I’m really thankful for the Guernsey County community who supports us with levies. The mayor, the county commissioners who have supported the project in terms of the infrastructure. It’s been a community project. Really proud to be in town,” McDonald said.
Allwell Behavioral Health Services also operate in Coshocton, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, and Perry Counties. More information can be found on Allwells website.
