Charles “Chuck” Hunt

Charles “Chuck” Augustus Hunt Jr., 77, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Altercare. He was born February 1, 1949, in Cleveland to the late Charles A. and Leola Walters Hunt Sr. He was a 1967 graduate of Bedford High School and attended the University of Rio Grande. He was an excellent salesman and over the years he sold cars, insurance, pianos and organs. Chuck enjoyed working on cars and woodworking. Music was his life; he was a member of a Rhythm and Brass band for 15 years that played all over Ohio. He was also an avid fan of the The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie West, who he married March 13, 1971; three children: Heather (Davis) Birch, Heidi (Matthew) Schneck and Holly (Scott) Franklin; a brother Jack (Anita) Hunt; 12 grandchildren: Kayla Birch, Tyler (Makenna) Birch, Nathan (Eliza) Birch, Jared Birch, Branden Birch, Hanna Schneck, Siri Schneck, Champ Schneck, Aage Schneck, Faith Franklin, Talyn Franklin and P.J. Franklin.

A memorial service will be held at 2PM, Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3300 Kearns Drive, Zanesville, with Bishop Hirtle officiating.
